Default Tom Cruise's Spaghetti Carbonara

From: http://www.oprah.com/foodhome/food/r...arbonara.jhtml

Tom Cruise's Spaghetti Carbonara
Recipe created Tom Cruise
From the show Tom Cruise
Makes 4 servings

INGREDIENTS

* 1/2 inch of olive oil (for frying pan)
* 2 cloves of minced garlic
* 1 chopped onion
* 8-12 thick slices of Italian bacon
* 4 eggs
* 2 packages of spaghetti
* 2 cups grated parmesan cheese

In a frying pan, combine ½ inch of olive oil, 2 cloves of minced garlic, one chopped onion and the Italian bacon cut into small squares. Let simmer for about a half-hour, being careful not to let the oil get to a boiling point.

In a bowl, beat 4 eggs with lots of salt and fresh ground pepper.

Bring a pan of salted water to a boil. Cook both packages of spaghetti until al dente, drain and immediately add egg mixture to pasta. Stir the egg mixture until it is well mixed. The eggs are actually cooked by the pasta. (Make sure the eggs are thoroughly cooked before proceeding.) Pour in the mixture from the frying pan and stir. Finish with the parmesan cheese and serve!

Alright, I made this last night and it was fan-fucking-tastic, even if I do say so myself. Now I don't have anything near what I would call "mad chef skillz" but it turned out pretty good, 3 other people ate it and no one was poisoned

It was a bit of a pain in the ass cooking the bacon in the 1/2" of olive oil on a gas stove, even with the burner down as low as it would go, the oil wanted to bubble, so I kept having to take it off the heat for a little, then back on.

I made it with an entire 500g packet of pasta, Tom's recipe says it serves 4 - must be 4 fat ass mofo's

Definitely recommend trying this one out.

Nice. Let's see if Tom Cruise's Spaghetti Carbonara is as delicious as it looks. I'll try cooking this later.
