I saw an ad for them this morning on TV. Is it one massive coldroom or something? Looked like everything was out on tables, but was a bit hard to tell.
Haven't been there yet, although keen to give it a shot. Shame there's no weekend specials for the next 2 weeks though. They've even got a 10 minute docco about organic beef! http://www.superbutchervip.com.au/vi..._episode1.html |

Superbutcher wins. Especially on a hot day.
Great variety great prices and great meat. Can't ask for much more. Heck, they even do pre-maid Tur-Duc-En's for Christmas! Visit the guys there, you won't be sorry. |

Haven't actaully bought anything from there but had a look through just after they opened (I work next door to one).. Being a fan of Blue Smokes Texas Beef ribs it was the first thing I asked if they had (whole back of beef ribs) and guess what.. they didnt! Not so super in my books.. I did get a hot tip from a guy working there who said i could get them from a butcher in mcsquirters in the valley.. haven't checked out that lead yet though.
I have heard people say they are not that cheap.. and everything appears to be in bulk quantities.. Last edited by eyep; February 9th, 2010 at 09:20 PM.. |

Yeah, you think if you bought in bulk quantities you'd get it for cheaper. They were advertising Legs of Ham a few weeks back post Christmas for $14/kg, buy one get one free. That's 2 hams you have to deal with, and not much cheaper than you can get at Coles/Woolworths for ~$7/kg. Quality of the ham? Not sure, that's something who's bought there would have to comment on

We did get a ham over Christmas and it was very nice. A winner with the whole extended family. I must admit it was good to have all the extended family around to help us get through it. Although I'm sure my husband ate more than his fair share of it too!
eyep, I get their email specials and I have read before that they will try to get in things if they dont have it, you should ask again. I too orginally thought that you had to buy things in bulk, but they also sell smaller quantities of things on trays. We follow the weekly specials and usually purchase a few of them. We have bought a chest freezer and also sometimes share with my parents....if they are lucky. Last week they had pork leg roasts for $3.99kg, we ended up buying one for us, one for my parents and one for my Aunty. |

I generally stick to buy what is on special and think we get some great deals. My hint though is to get the email so you know nice and early what is on special. I even have a laugh at Andrew's, (The guy you see on TV) stories that are included. Here is a link to the website, you just put your email in. http://www.superbutcher.com.au/super_butcher_home.ews
