Thumbs up Ohio Cafe - Clayfield

As promised, I made a same-day comparison with Ohio Cafe on Friday afternoon (compared with Chimi Burger). Ordered a Bacon Burger with 'The Lot' (cheese, pineapple, egg). This was a true bacon burger with a more than generous serve of bacon (no actual beef patty, the amount of bacon compensated for this handsomely). The bacon was perfectly cooked with the edges cooked crisp but not burnt, whilst middle parts were hot and juicy.

Excellent bun which didn't flake at the top (therefore, not dry) and thick enough not to disintegrate due to the liquids of the crinkle-cut beetroot and sauce.

Cheese was large and thickly cut, much thicker than I've seen on burgers in a long time. Egg was also fairly thick and taste very noticeable, another positive. Lots of tomato at the bottom of the ingredient stack, I love tomato, so another plus, something I usually have to ask for more of the second time around at many places, but perfect first time at Ohio. Enough beetroot as well as it made its way through all the other tastes in many of the bites.

Smartly presented on a plate with black handled knife, serviette and central skewer through burger. Excellent for $8.50. Great service, 3 people waiting plus myself at after 4:30 pm with only 1 person working and I didn't find waiting times were long. Friendly chap running the show, 30's, slight UK accent, gave the place a comfortable feel.

Will bring camera next time, simply visualise a shorter version of the recent Brisbane News front cover. A copy of the menu for the site next I visit.

Thanks for the review, I haven't eaten there yet (walked past it a million times!) but I'll be giving it a try tomorrow for sure.
