G'day guys. Just back from 2 1/2 years in London, and have moved into New Farm. The RG hotel used to do $5 steaks on a Wednesday night, still do, but i was thinking that there must be other places around town doing similar things. I'm not talking about entertainment book vouchers, i mean good old fashioned meal deals... Caxton used to do a 2 for Tuesdays... Any suggestions? If this has been discussed earlier - apologies, but still keen to get in on the action!

The Caxton still does 2-4-1 meals on tuesdays.
As does the Paddo (which surprisingly has a pretty good menu, good food for good prices) The Indus indian restaurant on Latrobe Tce in paddington (past the woolies) also does 2-4-1 meals on tuesday but its dine in only. The Brunswick hotel used to have a variety of meal deals but I'm not 100% sure what they are anymore. It used to be buy 1 meal, get second meal half price on a thursday I think. But its been a while since I was there/lived over there. |

Wow, $5 for a steak. That's the cheapest I've ever heard of.
"Tight-ass-Tuesday" is pretty common at most places. Even Eagle Boys gets into the "Buy one (full price menu) pizza get one free" deal. Would be good to fill in as many deals as possible in this thread though ![]() Arana Hills Leagues Club does 2-4-1 Wednesday Lunch/Dinner, and Friday Lunch at the Bistro. |

Hotel LA has a $13.95 Giant Rump for lunch. It's massive but can't say much about their sauces. Thin mushy sauce and when i asked for side of pepper was told it would cost extra. I paid and was also disappointed with it too. Still for 13.95 it's a relatively big feed of meat.
$5-steak sounds good though. Wonder what quality/size is like. |
